Architect and interior design studio in Valencia
A studio in the city it works from.
DE NUTTE STUDIO works from Calle Almirante Cadarso, in Valencia, on homes, hospitality and brand spaces. Architecture and interiors are developed by the same team, from the first plan to the last piece of furniture.
Valencia is where the studio is based and where a large part of its work is built: apartments in Eixample and Ruzafa, houses in Godella, Rocafort, La Cañada and El Vedat, and hospitality and brand spaces in the centre of the city.
The building stock of the city has its own logic. A flat in Eixample arrives with long corridors, a service courtyard and rooms of very different quality; a house in La Cañada arrives with plot, orientation and pine trees. In both cases the first work is the same: understanding what should stay, what should disappear and where the light already is.
A renovation in the city is decided by three things: the position of the kitchen, the way the daytime rooms meet the façade, and how much of the original floor, carpentry or moulding is worth keeping. Those decisions are taken with the interiors already drawn, so the reform is not corrected afterwards with furniture.
For hospitality and brand spaces in Valencia, the same method applies with a different measure: the space has to work on a Tuesday afternoon and on a Saturday night, and it has to still look like itself after two years of use. Materials are chosen for how they age, not for how they photograph on the day of the opening.
Being local matters in practical terms. Site visits happen weekly, suppliers and workshops are known personally, and licences and municipal procedures in Valencia follow a path the studio has already walked. For clients living abroad, the studio works in Spanish, English, Dutch and French, and reports on the works with the same regularity.
Work in the city runs alongside houses along the Costa Blanca and apartments in Madrid, which keeps the same criteria in use across very different places.
